Apple A14 Bionic:


        In Early Q4 Apple launches its iPhone 12 series with their latest 5G chip called A14 Bionic. The A14 bionic is made from Silicon and is a TSMC’s manufactured 5nm chip embedded with 11.5 billion transistors . Due to the small size gap between the source and the drain of the transistor. It is the most efficient and powerful processor


CPU & GPU:

                The A14 comes with the 6-cores (2+4 configuration) hexa core, The first two cores are the high-end cores and the other four cores are the low-end cores. The Apple A14 Bionic features an Apple-designed 64-bit six-core CPU implementing ARM v8  with two high-performance cores called Firestorm and four energy-efficient cores called IcestormMoreover, the A14 has high-performance caches for faster multi-tasking. As for the clock speeds, the numbers are not known but according to a leak, it may come with a maximum frequency of 3.1GHz

For the GPU, it is based on a new four-core GPU claims 50% faster GPU than any other smartphone


                 The A14 includes dedicated neural network hardware that Apple calls a new 16-core Neural Engine. The Neural Engine can perform 11 trillion operations per second. In addition to the separate Neural Engine, the A14 CPU includes second-generation machine learning matrix scalar multiplication accelerators (which Apple calls AMX blocks). The A14 also includes a new image processor with improved computational photography capabilities
   

Snapdragon 888:

               In later of Q4 Qualcomm announced a successor to its 800 series SOC's named Snapdragon 888 that will be equipped to upcoming 2021 flagship devices claimed by 11 OEM's including Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus. 
            

On the second day of the Snapdragon Tech Sumit 2020, Qualcomm revealed key features of its new chipset that brings advancements to 5G connectivity, artificial intelligence, gaming, and computational photography


CPU & GPU:

            Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor brings significant gains in performance and offers increased power efficiency as it is manufactured using the 5nm process. The chip is also the first commercial SoC that is based on the Arm Cortex-X1 architecture as it features the Kryo 680 CPU running at up to 2.84GHz. Qualcomm claims that the new chip is able to provide a 25% kick  in performance over the Snapdragon 865.



            The chip has Adreno 660 GPU for graphics rendering and is touted to deliver up to 35% faster graphics rendering over the Adreno 650 GPU. Together, the Kryo 680 CPU and Adreno 660 GPU offers better gaming performance over time. The Snapdragon 888 also brings third-generation Qualcomm Elite Gaming features with Variable Rate Shading (VRS) that is capable of improving game rendering by up to 30% on mobile phones. The Game Quick Touch is another feature that increases touch responsiveness by up to 20% that brings down touch latency and improves the gaming experience. 


Why Qualcomm Snapdragon 888:


               The Snapdragon 888 SoC is also equipped with a triple image signal processor (ISP) called Qualcomm Spectra 580 that is 35 percent faster and is better capable of capturing photos and videos.

                The 5nm chipset has a third-generation Snapdragon X60 modem that brings support for 5G sub-6 carrier aggregation and mmWave to provide up to 7.5Gbps speeds. The modem also uses Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) technology to provide 5G support to all major networks worldwide. Further, there is support for Global 5G multi-SIM to let users access distinct networks for managing their personal and work numbers while on international roaming.

                     Wireless connectivity, the Snapdragon 888 SoC has the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System that brings Wi-Fi 6 at up to 3.6Gbps — alongside the new 6GHz capacity over Wi-Fi 6E. The same system also includes support for Bluetooth 5.2, along with dual Bluetooth antennas and Qualcomm aptX suite.

                    These come from the sixth-generation Qualcomm AI Engine along with the new Qualcomm Hexagon 780 processor. Qualcomm claims that the new AI Engine can deliver up to three times performance per watt improvement over the previous generation, at a rate of 26 tera operations per second (TOPS)

                    

           Snapdragon 888 also includes the FastConnect 6900 system that brings Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, and 802.11 a/b/g/n, along with Bluetooth 5.2. Further, the chipset includes support for GPS, Glonass, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, and SBAS. It also supports NFC.

           Qualcomm has provided support for LPDDR5 memory at up to 3,200MHz frequency as well as LPDDR4x at up to 2,133MHz, along with a density of up to 16GB.

           Snapdragon 888 supports up to 4K display at 60Hz or QHD+ at 144Hz. It also supports HDR and HDR10+ standards. There is a Hexagon Voice Assistant Accelerator for hardware-accelerated voice signal processing. Additionally, the chipset includes Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec. There is also support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology for fast charging.


Conclusion:

            Based on the above Antutu score of A14 bionic we can assume that Snapdragon 888 is superior to A14 bionic overall. It's just an assumption. Final comparison between Snapdragon 888 vs a14 bionic can be concluded after the release of snapdragon 888 in 2021
